**The Litany of Humility is a series of challenging but important petitions in which we ask God through His grace to help us be truly humble. Although it is used regularly in Lenten private devotions, the laity are encouraged to pray it throughout the liturgical year.
Known as the “toughest” or “hardest prayer,” the litany is not complicated or confusing to recite. Rather, what the prayer asks of us is no easy endeavor. In its simplest form, the Litany of Humility is a way for us to come face to face with the worldly, comfortable sources of our pride and then ask God to keep us humble.
